# Can I control the device's camera and microphone remotely when using the Vuzix Video Conferencing for Zoom app?

Yes, it can be controlled remotely by sending chat commands directly to the device. *Tip: You can also type****/help****within the device chat at any time to see this full list of commands.* The following commands are available:

**Flashlight Controls** /flashlight — Shows the current flashlight status. /flashlight on — Turns the flashlight on. /flashlight off — Turns the flashlight off.

**Camera Controls** /camera — Displays the current camera status. /camera on — Activates the camera. /camera off — Deactivates the camera.

**Camera Zoom Controls** /zoom — Shows the current zoom level. /zoom+ — Zooms in one step. /zoom- — Zooms out one step. /zoom[1 … 8] — Sets zoom directly to a level between 1 and 8. (Note: Do not include spaces when using /zoom with a value.)

**Camera Exposure Controls** /exposure — Shows the current exposure level. /exposure+ — Increases exposure by one step. /exposure- — Decreases exposure by one step. /exposure[-12 … 12] — Sets the exposure manually within the allowed range. (Note: Do not include spaces when using /exposure with a value.)

**Microphone Controls** /microphone — Shows the current microphone status. /microphone on — Turns the microphone on. /microphone off — Turns the microphone off.

**Battery Information** /battery — Displays current battery level and charging status.

**System Status** /status — Shows a summary of all device statuses (camera, microphone, battery, flashlight, zoom, and exposure).

**Snapshot** /snapshot — Captures a still image

**Video Snippet** /video_snippet — Records and outputs a short video clip

**Important Note:**

- The Blade 2 device doesn’t support camera zoom, exposure, and flashlight controls.
- A "Processing Error" on /snapshot or /video_snippet indicates your IT administrator has restricted these commands. Please contact them to request access.
