Article summary

The majority of Android applications are designed exclusively for touchscreen-based devices. M-Series Smart Glasses use a very different user interface and interaction model compared to traditional Android phones and tablets, and rely heavily upon focus-based navigation for interface objects which most traditional Android applications do not implement. As such, we must consider most Android applications not designed with Smart Glass devices in mind as unsupported.

It is possible to navigate these applications with external input devices such as a Bluetooth mouse/keyboard combination or remote control applications such as Vuzix View, but as the primary objective of using a device such as the M-Series Smart Glasses is to be able to work hands-free, these applications may provide a far less than ideal user experience.

It is recommended to download apps from the Vuzix App Store since these are known to work on the device.
