Video Guide:

Making Your First Teams Call

When placing your first Teams call, a screen will appear displaying a code and directions to visit http://www.microsoft.com/devicelogin. Enter the code and log in with your company domain credentials.

After entering this code the website will prompt you to login with your corporate Microsoft Account.

This procedure may prompt administrators to approve the application for use. Depending on internal protocols, this process may require some time to complete.

If you are the very first user to request this app you may see this message:

Enter a justification and click on “Request approval” and you will see this confirmation”:

Please sit tight until your Azure Administrator informs you that you have been approved.  Then see “Once Azure Administrator Approved” below.

Potential Error Messages Explained

If you receive the error message below when attempting the device login on the Microsoft page, then the domain user is likely from an account that is not a fully configured corporate domain account.  To be able to use this user an Azure administrator will need to perform a solution configuration in the tenant for that domain and then provide you with a QR code to perform a tenant swap on the smart glasses.

It is likely more expedient to use a proper corporate domain user and request the Azure administrator approve use of the app running in the default Vuzix tenant.

If you receive the error message below when attempting the device login on the Microsoft page, then the app was previously approved by your Azure administrator, but they configured it to require that each new user is explicitly reviewed and approved.

You should wait until you receive an email confirmation from your administrators letting you know when the app has been approved.

Once Azure Administrator Approved

Once the app and user have been approved for using the Vuzix Remote Assist application in the cloud, you can proceed to make your first Teams calls on the Smart Glasses. This time when you launch the app and login on the Microsoft page with the code one more time, the code on the glasses will disappear and you will see the main menu for Vuzix Remote Assist for Teams application. The Calendar tab will display scheduled Teams meetings on your Outlook calendar.  Select a scheduled meeting to join it with your Smart Glasses. The Recent Contacts tab lists individuals with whom you have recently communicated via Teams Chat; selecting any contact enables you to place a Teams call directly to them.

During calls, audio from your microphone and video from your Vuzix Smartglasses will be transmitted to meeting participants.

Tenancy Swap for Solution Kits

Vuzix Smartglasses come ready to work with a Vuzix tenant, allowing users to start using them right away. However, usage is capped until users switch to their own corporate tenant after it has been set up. When company Azure administrators finish configuring the solution on the internal corporate tenant, they will provide users with a QR code to complete the transition.

To swap tenants you will need to select “Settings”

And then “Microsoft Settings”

And then “Scan configuration code”

If you do not see “Microsoft settings” in your settings menu, follow the instructions in the “Tenants Swap for Stand-alone App”

Once the QR code is scanned, you’ll see that “Company Name” and other information will be updated on this screen, and future calls will be routed through your organization’s infrastructure.
