Making Your First Zoom Call

Currently, Zoom only permits users to join pre-scheduled meetings anonymously. Upon selecting the “Zoom by Vuzix” application, the camera will activate in QR scanner mode. Please refer to separate instructions for generating a Zoom Meeting QR code. When you are prepared to join a meeting, simply launch the application and direct your camera toward the QR code associated with the scheduled Zoom meeting.

Meeting participants will be able to hear your audio, and video from your Vuzix Smart glasses will be shared with all attendees.

Zoom QR Code Guide

To join Zoom meetings, Smart glasses users must scan a QR code.

Smart glasses users or meeting organizers must manually create a QR code. This is not included in standard Zoom invites.

Your Zoom invitation will look like this:

A variety of websites, as well as mobile and desktop applications, are available for generating QR codes.

Important: Only utilize trusted and IT-approved tools to produce QR codes, and handle QR codes with the same level of security as personal passwords.

Typically, a QR code tool provides an input field for entering content, after which you select the appropriate option to generate the QR code. The resulting code can be scanned directly from the screen or downloaded and stored for future use.

Some tools offer multiple input formats, such as Text, URLs, or JSON. For Zoom meetings, ensure that you select the URLs option.

Copy the meeting URL and paste it  into a QR code generator.

This produces a QR code that you can scan on your smart glasses to join a meeting.
