Why is the Vuzix Solution app missing after a device reset, and how do I restore it?

Overview:
After resetting the device, it may display the standard Android home screen instead of the Vuzix Solution interface. This is expected behavior.

Why this happens:
A factory reset removes locally installed apps, including the Vuzix Solution apps. The device must reconnect to the network to automatically reinstall required applications.

Step 1: Connect to Wi-Fi

  1. Open Settings

  2. Select Network & Internet

  3. Connect to a Wi-Fi network

✅ Important: Once connected, the device will automatically begin downloading the required Vuzix applications.


Step 2: Manually trigger app download (optional)

If the apps do not start downloading automatically:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Select Apps

  3. Select Vuzix App Store

  4. Select Check for pending actions


Step 3: Set the Vuzix Launcher as the default home screen

After the apps finish installing:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > All apps

  2. Select Vuzix Solution Launcher

  3. Select Home App

  4. Choose Vuzix Solution Launcher


This will return the device to the Vuzix Solution home screen (original interface).


Troubleshooting

If the launcher is still not restored:

  • Ensure the device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network

  • Confirm all applications have finished downloading

  • Restart the device and try again
