How do I transfer a device to a different account?

Overview

This guide explains the steps to transfer ownership of a device to another user.


Part 1: Transfer the Device (Current Owner)

  1. Log in to the Vuzix App Store.

  2. Go to My Account > My Devices.

  3. Find the device you want to transfer and click the gear icon next to it.

  4. Select Transfer Device Ownership.

    Note:

    • If the device has active apps or subscriptions, click the provided link to remove them before continuing.

    • If you need to transfer an active subscription, please contact Vuzix Technical Support for assistance.

  5. Enter the recipient’s email address and click Continue.

    Note: The recipient must create an App Store account using this email address before the transfer can be completed.

  6. (Optional) If apps are installed on the device, you can choose to transfer them along with the device.

  7. Click Transfer to submit the request.

  8. A confirmation message will appear:
    “The process for transferring the device has started.”

    Tip: You can cancel the transfer request at this stage using the provided link.


Part 2: Accept the Transfer (New Owner)

Once the transfer is initiated:

  1. Log in to the App Store using the recipient's email address.

  2. Go to My Account > Pending Transfers.

  3. Review the transfer details.

  4. Click Accept Transfer to complete the process.

    Note:You can also choose to decline the transfer if needed.

  5. After acceptance, the device will appear under My Devices.


Devices Purchased from a Third-Party Seller

If the device was purchased from a third-party seller and you are unable to contact the original owner to complete the transfer, please reach out to Technical Support for assistance. You will be required to provide proof of purchase so that our team can verify ownership and proceed with the transfer. Please note that if proof of purchase cannot be provided, the transfer request may be denied.
